No More Searching, Home at Last
I received the Lord when I was five years old. I was in a denomination and very afraid of God. I thought God would drop “fire and brimstone” on me if I didn't receive His Son. As I continued growing up, I was always “searching” for why I existed. I looked to mysticism, supernatural-reincarnation and “full gospel.” I was never satisfied; the Lord within me was not satisfied.
After being married for several years we decided to purchase a house. I knew we couldn't afford this house, but my mother and father-in-law pushed us. Well the Lord surely did “place us,” because soon we were living next to a Christian brother and sister. This precious, sweet family showed us what we were looking for, our glorious Christ. They had books by Witness Lee called the Life-Studies, an exposition on the Old Testament and New Testament. Never had I read such a rich expounding of the Word. The Lord revealed to me with such clarity the significance of the two trees in Genesis--the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. I was attracted to the ministry of Witness Lee.
How refreshing was that first meeting of the local church for us. Everyone shared, they all spoke in the meeting! How happy was my spirit and the Lord leaped inside! How enlivening to call on His name, oh Lord Jesus.
Ten years have passed since I met the local church. I'm in a different city now and Christ is even richer. He is revealing His Body in a fuller way to me. Through Witness Lee's ministry, I have opened up to the Lord more. The Lord is fulfilling His promises “...come to me and drink...out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living waters' (John 7:27,38). “I will build my church....” (Matthew 16:18). Oh hallelujah, Christ is living and building up of His Body through the believers His Father has given Him. Lord, grow more in me. Gain and fulfill Your purpose. Amen.
